Grant A. Lemke, D.D.S. founded Professional Dental Assisting in 1993 because he felt there were no adequate training courses for dental assisting in the Greater-Milwaukee area. At the time, the public vocational schools did not offer any dental assistant training. When looking to hire dental assistants Dr. Lemke found many inexperienced applicants who were willing to learn, but he had little time during his busy, scheduled days to teach them. The idea of a weekend dental assistant training school was born and over the years, the school has placed over 95% of its graduates with a 100% satisfaction rating.
Born and raised in Milwaukee, Dr. Lemke fell in love with the Lake Country area in 1975 while visiting a friend on North Lake. At the time, he was attending Carroll College pursuing degrees in Biology and Chemistry. Four years later, during his senior year at Marquette University Dental School, he spotted a building on Hartbrook Drive under construction. He opened a small practice at 510 Hartbrook Drive in June of 1979 - two weeks after graduation. Even in the recession, the practice thrived. Today the practice is still at that address, but four times larger. Dr. Lemke has five full-time and two part-time employees that make his dental all-star team.
He resides with his wife Christina and three sons in Hartland, Wisconsin where they actively volunteer their time and efforts for their faith. Their church has a highly organized lay ministry; of with he has been given an office.
To relax and exercise, Dr. Lemke enjoys racquetball, but alas, it has not been happening often enough. He also has found time to support his sons in their schoolwork and after-school activities - primarily as a tutor and rooting section leader. The greatest relaxation he gets, however is traveling with his wife.
Dr. Lemke's memberships include American Dental Society, Wisconsin Dental Society, Waukesha County Dental Society, Trustee to the Waukesha County Dental Society, House of Delegates to the Wisconsin Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, and Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation. He is also a member of the Lake Country Rotary.
